Excellent shoe shop. Not the cheapest but I bought boots and shoes there that are now 10 years old, and they still look great. Excellent quality, but also very comfortable ( I have old flat large tired feet so comfort is my main focus.
It is the first time I have ever been in to a Russell and Bromley with my eye on the prize as it were as I have wide size 42 feet and thought (wrongly) that I wouldn’t be able to get anything. Wrong! Ended up with a fab pair of boots and ordered a bag to match.
I came here to buy my wedding shoes and was not dissapointed by the choice and the treatment by staff. A special thank you to Niall who spent close to 40 minutes helping me make the perfect choice. Hats off to you young sir.

Despite working in the same street I don’t get to visit Modish very often BUT I recommend this fabulous shop to any person/client I can…. the most beautiful and comfortable shoes/boots/sandals you could wish for. Even the heels are comfortable on the slightly aging foot!
I have loved this shop for years and it never disappoints with its fabulous range with brands you can never find in mainstream stores. I visited before Christmas having had a long love affair (through the window) with the most beautiful boots. The lady who served me was lovely, helpful and I left with my dream boots and could not have been happier! Please support independent shops like these, they are absolutely what we need on our high street!
Modish is the only place I buy my shoes. Excellent range and styles of shoes which are not available from other places in Cambridge. The shop owner is very friendly and offers the individual shopping experience you only get with local independent businesses.

What We Offer:

North Shoes was founded in 1876 by William North, a boot maker from Haconby, a small village just outside Bourne. It is believed that it was his wife Sarah who instigated the business. She saw the property for sale whilst visiting the market in Bourne and proposed they sell shoes as well as make them. Boots were made on the premises until 1914 when demand became too high for the 12 employed boot makers and boots had to be sourced elsewhere. North Shoes prides itself on being a children’s fitting specialist with staff trained to the highest standards. It hosts a generous range of width fittings and brands, to include Clarks, which has been part of the product range since the turn of the 20th century.
